Set up instructions for Outlook

Follow these instructions to set up your email address in Outlook:

  1. Click on File in the top left corner
  2. Click on Account Settings and select Account Settings... again from the dropdown menu

  3. Next, click on New...

  4. Enter your email address in the Email address field and then click Connect

  5. If you are only prompted to enter a password in the next window, Outlook has automatically found the settings, and all you need to do is enter your password and then click Connect.

    If you are presented with the Advanced setup option, choose IMAP:

  6. You will next need to enter the server settings. Note that the name of the mail server varies by email address. In the example below, setting up the email address would mean the server name is

    It's crucial to enter the correct information for the Server, record port 993 for incoming mail, port 465 for outgoing mail, and select SSL/TLS for the Encryption method.

  7. Finally, enter your password and click on Connect. If all the information has been correctly entered, your email account will be set up and ready to use in Outlook.
